Weather permitting, the meeting will be in the park pavilion. In case of inclement weather we will meet inside the building at 697 Melton Lake Drive.


The Great Smoky Mountains Regional Greenway Council is a coalition of local governments, agencies and individuals working together to coordinate, plan and promote greenway construction in the greater Knoxville region.


Our goals are:

  • Advocating and supporting the development and implementation of a system of greenways throughout the region linking to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in order to:

    • Create a positive regional image
    • Enhance tourism
    • Increase outdoor recreation opportunities
    • Provide transportation alternatives
    • Enhance quality of life in the region
    • Protect natural corridors
    • Create new outdoor education opportunities

  • greenwayEstablishment of a public relations/marketing information program to publicize and gain support for regional greenways.

  • Establishment of a network to promote, support, and communicate information and ideas about greenway development through regular scheduled meetings, events, and other forms of communication.
